What is the measurable positive impact from implementing ESG?

The company develops the Autonomous Engineer that reduces on an average 20% of material consumption related to technical systems in buildings. This ranges from multi family homes, commercial buildings, logistics to hospitals and laboratories.

While reducing embodies carbon due to less components and stretches of pipes and ducts in the building, this also reduces the carbon in operation. Less km of pipes and ducts require less energy for pushing water and air around to different part of the building.

Quality checking all the documentation for tendering of development projects, prevents errors causing unnecessary material usage and waste.

Resource Excellence Award

Please share the company logo (JPG or PNG)

What is the measurable positive impact from implementing ESG?

minimass products are 50-70% lower carbon than traditional concrete or steel structural elements for construction for equivalent strength & durability performance, which is achieved by using less material & eliminating wasted materials. They can be used immediately to help the industry reduce its huge impact on global carbon emissions, whilst low carbon materials will likely take a decade to be adopted by the supply chain. Once adopted, minimass is future-proofed to work in tandem with these materials.

The global market for structural elements (beams, frames, columns, slabs) is forecast to be worth £80bn by 2028, producing 40 million tonnes of carbon annually. Switching to minimass would save £20 billion and 24 million tonnes of carbon every year.

Bullano

EcoBalance Award

What is the measurable positive impact from implementing ESG?

The implementation of dynamic QR code technology in real estate billboards has several measurable positive impacts aligned with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles.

Environmental (E)
The platform promotes the efficient use of natural resources by reducing paper, energy, and fuel consumption through the digitization of property search, listing, and negotiation processes. Additionally, we provide billboards with dynamic QR codes for each property. By reusing billboards after a property is sold or rented, Bullano contributes to waste reduction compared to the traditional practice of using new billboards for each property and then discarding them.
For every 1000 real estate billboards reused, 8.22T of CO2 emissions are avoided, equivalent to:
- The absorption of CO2 by 822 trees for one year.
- The CO2 emissions produced by driving approximately 57,462 kilometers by car.
- The production of 102,750 one-liter plastic bottles.
- The production of 32,880 kWh of electricity per year.
- The use of air conditioning for 15,788 hours.
Bullano's innovation contributes to reducing the carbon footprint by decreasing the use of materials such as polyester with a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) coating, corrugated plastic, wood, steel, and ink in billboard manufacturing.

Social (S)
Improved User Experience: The implementation of dynamic QR code technology in billboards enhances the user experience by providing easy and quick access to up-to-date and detailed information about the property. This impact can be measured through customer satisfaction surveys and technology usage analytics.

Governance (G)
Commitment to Corporate Responsibility: The provision of billboards on loan/rent to reduce the carbon footprint reflects a commitment to environmental and social responsibility. The number of real estate agencies or individuals participating in this initiative can be an indicator of the acceptance and adoption of environmental commitment.

Pretty Plastic

Resource Excellence Award

Please share the company logo (JPG or PNG)

What is the measurable positive impact from implementing ESG?

At Pretty Plastic, our dedication to sustainability centers around addressing the pressing issue of plastic waste, which has become a significant concern in today’s world. We exemplify this commitment by using non-virgin PVC materials to create new building products. Notably, the production of non-virgin PVC emits only 0.2 kg of CO2 per kilogram, a stark contrast to the 2.6 kg of CO2 emitted during the production of virgin PVC. This results in a substantial reduction of 2.4 kg of CO2 for every kilogram of PVC we produce.

Our commitment to environmental responsibility goes beyond production. We’ve implemented a robust return policy and designed our products for easy disassembly, ensuring that our tiles can be returned and recycled at our facilities, thus avoiding incineration. Furthermore, considering that recycling PVC inherently avoids incineration, our total CO2 emission savings rise to an impressive 3.9 kg.

For our tiles to generate environmental benefits we have established a solid network made of recycled PVC suppliers and other partners that share our same mission and are supporting us to assess the sustainability of our products. In addition, we have implemented a comprehensive testing protocol to assess the safety, durability, and environmental impact of our tiles according to the latest European and Dutch norms and certification programs.

Out of our product's Life Cycle Assessment analysis (LCA), there came various results. The first one displays a significant milestone, as it is the first façade cladding made entirely from 100% recycled PVC, we received a category 1 product card from the Dutch National Milieu Database. Another result revealed a total Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 40 kg CO2 equivalent per
square meter. This puts Pretty Plastic's cladding tiles far below natural Stone (76 KG CO2), natural atone slates (76 KG CO2), and aluminum (91 KG CO2). Lastly, we ended up with an Environmental Cost Indicator (ECI) of 4.54 €. Here we received the lowest score when compared to ceramics (12.76 €), aluminum (8.11 €), natural stone (6.33 €), and natural stone slate (4.75 €).

We prevent the release of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHGs) on two sides. Firstly, we don't use virgin (PVC) plastic, thereby preventing the need for fossil resources. Secondly, we prevent GHGs from waste incinerators since our tiles can be recycled up to 8 times. Moreover, our tiles are demountable which facilitates the collection process and our return policy.

Up until now, we covered 4.566 m2 with our Pretty Plastic cladding tiles. Each tile weighs 1.1 KG and 22 tiles fit are used per m2. Based on the scientific research, which showed a decrease of 3.6 kg GHGs when using recycled PVC, we prevented 397.790 KG of CO2 equivalence.
