What is the measurable positive impact from implementing ESG?

Solsign's contribution to implementing ESG principles primarily lies in our facilitation of renewable energy projects. By streamlining and accelerating the process of land identification and acquisition for solar energy installations, we directly contribute to the expansion of clean, sustainable energy sources. This, in turn, aligns with the EU Taxonomy, which focuses on defining environmentally sustainable economic activities.

Our platform helps reduce the time and resources spent on land prospecting, ultimately promoting the growth of renewable energy projects. As a result, we support the transition to a low-carbon economy and aid in achieving the EU's ambitious renewable energy targets. Additionally, by fostering transparency and efficiency in the solar energy industry, we indirectly contribute to greater accountability and governance within the sector.

What kind of innovation or technology does the company use?

Solsign's main innovation lies in the convergence of three core functionalities:

1. Geospatial Model: We developed a custom geospatial model from scratch, distinct from pre-populated mapping services like Google or ESRI. It incorporates over 40 data sets, encompassing geographic, regulatory/administrative, and electricity data. This integration provides comprehensive insights into land suitability for solar projects, combining geographical factors with complex regulatory aspects.

2. Calibrating Algorithm: Our sophisticated statistical model offers precision in assessing land suitability. As we transition to a machine learning model, continuous improvement and adaptation to market conditions are expected, enhancing predictive capabilities.

3. Customer-Facing Marketplace: Solsign's marketplace connects landowners, property agents, and renewable energy developers efficiently and reliably. It stands out as a scalable and instantaneous marketplace of vetted land, streamlining the process of land evaluation for solar projects. Moreover, we maintain a live, vetted marketplace, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of listings and featuring only verified "hot" leads actively seeking solar developers.

This holistic approach, combining advanced geospatial insights, a calibrating algorithm, and a streamlined marketplace, sets Solsign apart from existing solutions, offering unmatched efficiency and trustworthiness in the renewable energy sector.

Who are the founders of the company and what is their experience?

The Solsign team is uniquely suited to solving the challenge of simplifying solar site origination, bringing together a diverse range of expertise and experience. Here are some key aspects that highlight our team's qualifications:

Industry Knowledge: Our team possesses in-depth knowledge of the renewable energy sector, with a specific focus on solar energy. For instance, our COO Eran Goren was formerly Legal Counsel at EDF Renewables and was personally involved in hundreds of land origination transactions. Eran brings with him a deep understanding of the complexities and nuances of the industry, including the land acquisition process, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics.

Technical Expertise: We have a strong technical background, particularly in geospatial analysis and data-driven insights. Our CTO Engin Gem has a deep understanding of GIS technology, AI algorithms, and machine learning techniques, which are essential for accurately assessing the viability of potential solar sites.

Business/Entrepreneurial Experience: CEO Mattan Lass has a strong track record of successful entrepreneurial ventures and business development. He has led business development ventures in two countries and established strategic partnerships within the renewable energy ecosystem.

What is the leadership style of the company? Is this a sustainable one?

Solsign's leadership style is characterized by openness, democracy, support, and fairness. We value transparent communication, collaboration, and equal opportunities for all team members. This leadership approach fosters a positive and sustainable work environment.

What is the company's business model and how is this scalable?

Solsign's business model operates on a credit-based system, offering flexibility and scalability:

- Customers purchase prepaid credits (in chunks of 5) to access specific platform features.
- Each feature has a fixed credit cost. For example, energy companies can check land data for 1 credit, connect with landowners for 3 credits, and reserve a listing for 30 days for 6 credits.
- Individual landowners can use the platform for free.

Scalability is inherent in this model as it allows for easy onboarding of new users, both landowners and energy companies, across different markets. As Solsign expands to more regions and markets, the credit-based system can be applied universally, supporting the company's growth and scalability.
