What is the measurable positive impact from implementing ESG?

10 years of working with organisations to design and deliver sustainability reporting strategies. From 2022 working at the IWBI supporting member organisations to align their people and planet efforts to the WELL standard and its products. Designing ESG reporting strategies aligned with ESRS and Regulatory frameworks as well as climate related data.

She has in-depth knowledge not only on the evolving and developing regulation and legislation landscape. Given that knowledge, she has a unique ability to translate legislative requirements into action, essentially successfully delivering not only the very minimum (as dictated by compliance to legislation), but creatively with innovative solutions.

Positive impact goes beyond the every-day (such as adherence to regulation), but seeks to see a broader approach, looking for innovative solutions for the system.

What kind of technology or innovations does the nominee implement regarding ESG?

WELL standard alignment with CSRD ESRS frameworks for global corporates.

She had a keen knack of using innovative technology in creative ways to ensure that ESG can supply a road map toward success. ESG is just one are that a company needs to understand, technology allows for the interconnectedness of decisions to illustrate where there are wins and where more work needs to be done. Giovanna is a whizz at cutting through the, at times, disclosure heavy ESG and uses innovative ways, in a dynamic and artful way to deliver ESG solutions, at scale, for the appropriate projects.

How does the nominee implement ESG at a bigger scale?

Through the design and development of strategies and project mapping to reporting innitiatives.

Successful ESG solutions should not (ideally) focus on one issue, such as Climate Change, but should take a systems based approach to implementation. How can more than one ESG/sustainability issue be delivered with one strategy. Giovanna has proved time and again, how her approach to ESG issues is to recognise the interconnectedness of ESG and how it can support and facilitate innovative solutions. She has worked on projects that require one solution (only), and on others that has pulled on the success of the one solution and enhances it appropriate for the challenge and opportunity at hand.

How does the nominee show leadership and help the industry to move forward?

Thought leadership delivery by leading, participating and attending ESG events. Leading internal groups and ESG alignment workshops for clients.

I have worked in the field of ESG and sustainability for 30 years, I find Giovanna not only a good sounding board for new and slightly wacky solutions - as she has a clarity of focus and transparency of thought process. In addition, I have seen her support and lead by example teams of ESG professionals, from newbies to more measured team members. All have seen Giovanna as a hands-on leader willing to support where needed, advise where needed, and mentor where needed. He leadership style is one that is universally supporting, yet flexible enough to allow growth.
